Organisational structure

The members of the Board of Directors of the HOAI (ΕΛΓΑ) (No. 3245/348733 decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, (ΦΕΚ 1072/18-11-2022) are set as follows:

1. Andreas T. Lykourentzos, Chairman of HOAI, as Chairman,
2. Georgios A. Ferentzanis, Vice Chairman of HOAI, representative of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food.
3. Christos P. Gianakakis, Business Consultant, representative of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, as regular member, and Dimitrios Th. Delimitis, representative of said Ministry, as deputy.
4. Ekaterini A. Dardamani, official of ΠΕ1 Agronomical Branch, of the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food, as regular member, and Vasiliki G. Lourida, official of the same branch and Ministry, as deputy.
5. Charikleia G. Zisimou, Veterinarian, Ο.Π.Ε.Κ.Ε.Π.Ε. official, representative of the Ministry of Finance, as regular member, and Konstantinos D. Argyropoulos, Economist, and representative of said Ministry as, deputy.

By the No. 2637/294313/15-11-2019 (ΦΕΚ 975/τ. Υ.Ο.Δ.Δ./19-11-2019) decision of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Andreas T. Lykourentzos was appointed to the post of Chairman of the Hellenic Organisation of Agricultural Insurances (ΕΛΓΑ).

 

CV

He was born in Tripoli, Arcadia, in 1957.

He is a graduate of the Panteion University of Social and political Sciences, in the School of Political Science, with specialisation in Comparative Political Analysis.

He was elected MP for Arcadia in the National Elections of 2004, 2007, 2009, 2012.

He has participated, as a member, during his eleven year – long parliamentary tenure, in the Standing Parliamentary Committees of:

Social Affairs, Economic Affairs, Educational Affairs, Public Administration Affairs, and the Special Committees of:

Environmental Protection, Constitutional Revision, Regions.

He held the post of Deputy Minister of National Education and Religious Affairs, in the government of Kostas Karamanlis, in the period 2007 - 2009.

He held the post of Minister of Health in the government of Antonis Samaras, in the period 2012- 2013.

For the farmer’s service, provision has been made for appointing a sufficient number of H.O.A.I. Correspondents in each Municipality by the regulations of article 13 par. 4 of L. 1790/1988 “Organisation and operation of the Hellenic Organisation of Agricultural Insurances and other regulations” as replaced by regulations of article 46 of L.4596/2019, as applicable today.

H.O.A.I. Correspondents are appointed by decision of the H.O.A.I. Chairman, from amongst local self-government services, after suggestion by the local mayor.

In circumstances of extreme remoteness from the Centre of the Municipalities or Local Communities, other persons can be appointed as H.O.A.I. Correspondents with the aforementioned process. These persons can be members of the Local Municipal Council, put forward by said council, but also persons put forward by the Unions of Agricultural Associations, according to regulations of article 13 par. 4 of L.1790/1988, as replaced by regulations of article 46 of L. 4596/2019.

The number of correspondents reaches around 1.700 and varies according to conditions.

Correspondents perform all such labour, on account of the H.O.A.I. such as result from Regulations for Insuring Crop Production, Livestock, State Fiscal Reinforcement, and pertinent H.O.A.I. Circulars concerning report of losses, Applications for State Financial Support (K.O.E.) receipt of charges on part of H.O.A.I., informing affected farmers as well as any concerning the aforementioned labour.
